Hi, I'm Holly! I'm a kidlit author currently working as an acute care physical therapist in the Chicago suburbs. I'm biracial, an identical twin (my sister also writes!), a self-proclaimed 'cool' nerd, and a fur mom to a puppy and two kitties. When I'm not reading or writing, I love to binge Netflix shows and play games on my phone.
I started writing at a very young age, though I'd often draw the book cover and only write a couple of chapters! In high school, I wrote fanfiction for the video game, Kingdom Hearts. Eventually, I wanted to write a story of a world and characters all my own! I started a YA fantasy in 2007 but my time and writing fell to the wayside once I started physical therapy school in 2009. I discovered NaNoWriMo in 2015 and picked my novel back up, determined to finish the story I'd started so long ago. I completed the first draft in December 2015 which set me on the path toward trying to get published...and I've never looked back since!
I've written four manuscripts since then and survived the query trenches. My YA fantasy debut, A Diamond Bright and Broken, will be published with Inimitable Books in November 2024!! I'm excited to share my first published novel with the world!
Throughout the years, I've immersed myself in the writing community by helping others navigate the ups and downs of the writing life through my AuthorTube channel! I love interacting with both readers and writers alike.
