About Me
I currently work as a physical therapist in Chicago and write whenever I can. I'm biracial, a twin (my sister also writes!), a self-proclaimed 'cool' nerd, and a fur mom to two kitties. When I'm not reading or writing, I love to watch anime, Netflix and chill, play the In The Groove dance arcade game, and pretend to be healthy (we all know you eat peanut butter and chocolate every day, Holly).
I started writing from a very young age, though I'd often draw the book cover and only write a couple of chapters! In high school, I wrote fanfiction for the video game, Kingdom Hearts. Eventually, I wanted to write a story of a world and characters all my own! I started my YA fantasy, Ranokori Realm, in 2007, but my time and writing fell to the wayside once I started physical therapy school in 2009 and started working in 2012. I discovered NaNoWriMo in 2015 and picked Ranokori Realm back up, determined to finish the story I'd started so long ago. I completed RR's first draft in December 2015 which set me on the path towards the writer life...and I've never looked back since!
I've written three manuscripts since then and am currently querying my fourth novel, nicknamed Project Diamond, with the goal of traditional publication.
I've immersed myself in the writing community by helping others write and edit their novels as well as navigate the ups and downs of the writing life through my AuthorTube channel! I love interacting with both readers and writers alike. I'm the host of the Diversity is Lit Book Club, creator of the Happy Balanced Writer Workbook, and judge for the Page Turner Awards Young Writer Award, a writing contest for writers aged between 18 and 25.
